++ 8M 2021 Covid-19 Protocol ++

Covid-19 is a social justice issue. Why? Because the pandemic has overwhlemingly affected communities of color, migrant communities, working-class communities, the elderly and the sick.
Over the last weeks, some migrant women* of color have expressed to us a fear that by going to demos, they could increase their risk of being infected by Covid-19. The fear of getting Covid-19 is also a fear of racism. Migrants don't have equal access to health services and those with a precarious or no documented status know very well that the government has been using Covid-19 to repress or deport their communities. In fact, the German government and the European Union as a whole has been treating migrants and Roma and Sinti people as a health and security threat against White European society. Also, many refugees are forced to live in over-crowded lagers, where the risk of Covid-19 spreading is high. Quarantining because of Covid-19 means, for many working-class people who rely on informal or precarious jobs, a loss of livelihood. And for those persons already dealing with mental health challenges, isolation can worsen this.

Even those women* migrants of color who are documented and have access to the health system face a lot of structural violence. They receive less care, worse care and are often not believed when they say they are in pain.

Remember also that our demos are attended by elders, people with pre-existing health conditions and other vulnerabilities due to the capitalist, racist and patriarchal society we live in. Police have  been known to use Covid-19 regulations to repress demonstrations.

All of this is to say: to walk in solidarity with your sisters* on March 8th is to take collective responsibility for each other's safety.

By attending the demo, you agree to:
- Wear a mask that fully covers your nose and mouth
 - keep the mask on *the whole time* while in the demo
- Keep a distance of 1.5 meters at least from other people, including your friends and comrades
 - Use hand-sanitizer before and after touching things that can be touched by other people.

Members of our Awareness team wear bright-colored vests. They will enforce the rules above strictly and those who don't follow them will be asked to leave the demo. They will also carry some extra masks and hand-sanitizer: please ask them for these if you need them.

If you want to smoke, drink, breathe more freely or speak on the phone without a mask on, leave the demo *completely*, keeping are least 20 meters between yourself and the nearest part of the demo. But, please be aware of your safety, so leave and return in small groups. However, keep a distance from each other once you find a spot far away from the demo. Before reentering the demo, make sure you follow the rules above.

Let's take care of each other.

Covid-19 ist ein Thema der sozialen Gerechtigkeit. Warum?

Lasst uns aufeinander aufpassen.
